Letting Go

Letting go is often misunderstood. Many of us believe it means giving up, ignoring what hurt us, or pretending something did not matter. In truth, letting go is an act of self respect. It is the choice to stop carrying what is no longer ours to hold.

For a long time, I held on to situations long after they had passed. I replayed conversations, analysed tone, and searched for meaning. It felt as though I was protecting myself, but all it really did was keep my mind busy and my body tense. The more attention I gave to these thoughts, the louder they became.

The shift came when I learned to separate what belonged to me from what belonged to others. When someone spoke unkindly or acted from fear, I began to see that their behaviour often reflected their own struggles, not my worth. I could acknowledge what happened without absorbing it. I could care without carrying.

Letting go became a practice rather than a decision. Each time my mind returned to old stories, I noticed it and gently brought myself back to the present. Over time, the grip softened. What once felt heavy and overwhelming began to lose its power.

There is freedom in releasing emotional weight. When we stop holding on to resentment, expectation, and old narratives, space opens up. In that space, calm returns. Clarity returns. Peace becomes available again.

Letting go does not mean forgetting. It means trusting yourself enough to move forward without dragging the past behind you.

Pause for Reflection:
Take a moment to breathe
What am I still holding on to that I am now ready to release

“I release what no longer serves me. I choose peace and ease“

Much love & light
